K-pop is a music style that has become quite popular over the last few years. It’s based in South Korea, and there’s often dances that goes along with the songs. K-pop also does have some English words and phrases sometimes, I guess due to the influence of Western culture. In this post, there are 3 reasons to like K-Pop Music.
Some notable names are BTS, Blackpink, Psy (The “Gangnam Style” guy), and EXO.
My personal favorites so far are StrayKids, Monsta X, and Blackpink.
Now that there’s some basic information out the way, here’s why I like to listen to K-pop music even though I don’t understand what they’re saying 95% of the time.
Reasons to like K-Pop Music
K-pop is often a perfect mix of Western type pop and edm styles
I love both, and sometimes I just wish there was more of a combination between the two. I think K-Pop music does this.
There’s an incredible variety of styles within the K-Pop music genre – it’s hard to get bored.
Ballads, EDM, etc. I like having the options. Even collaborations with western artists add additional variety to the K-Pop music genre.
It’s great to listen to K-Pop music in the background without getting distracted.
Since I don’t know the language, I can’t focus on the words.
This makes it perfect for working or studying in the background when you need something up-beat.
Conclusion
So, here are 3 reasons to like K-Pop Music. I love it because of how EDM-ish it sounds oftentimes, and how unique the backing tracks can be. I also think that there’s a lot of variety there is within the genre, and that it’s great listen to in the background without getting distracted.
