There are many different types of music notations that are great for different purposes. When it comes to worship music, there’s sheet music and guitar chords, for example. I like to use guitar chords to play worship music on the keyboard.
This blog post will list some of my favorite websites to find guitar chords for worship music. I do want to note that this post is in no way sponsored, and that all opinions in this article are my own.
5 Great Sites for Worship Music Guitar Chords
Ultimate Guitar
This website’s free version is perfectly functional. It just has ads like pretty much everything else. However, there is a premium version that gives more features. In addition to being ad-free, you’ll get access to backing tracks, additional tabs, and other stuff.
There’s also an additional option to pay for courses if you’d like.
There are often multiple options of chords for each song, so if you don’t like one, you can try a different one.
I decided to pay for the premium subscription.
Essential Worship
This website for worship chords is interesting because there are Christian Artist interviews, guitar chords, a planning center for worship teams, and other features. I can also appreciate the format of the chords and lyrics.
However, one thing that I don’t like is the lack of worship song options from different artists, especially the popular songs. I think that more songs will be added to the site as time progresses.
WorshipChords
In the past, when I would search up worship music chords on this website, I’d find options like transposing to another key. However, when I recently went back to look to write this post, I found that there’s actually a subscription for many of the features that I thought used to be free.
I at least thought that you’d be able to sign up for free and at least get access to something. But after putting in your name and email on the sign-up page, a payment card form comes up.
I would say that there’s a decent variety of my favorite songs available, and I think the format is alright.
If you are really interested in going with the paid version, there is a free trial. You can gain access to the additional stuff like transposing, downloading pdfs, and possible instruction videos for songs if available. There are quite a few more features available, and you can check those out on the website.
If you really want to just use the song chords without signing up, you can type the name of the song, “chords”, and put “Worship Chords” at the end. (“oceans chords Worship Chords”.) If the song’s not available, you can use another website for worship chords on this list.
E-Chords
Another website I’ll add to my list for chords is E-Chords. My favorite part of this site is the format of how the chords and lyrics look.
When viewing the chords for “King of My Heart” by Kutless, the choruses of songs appear in another block that makes it visually stand out from the rest.
Additionally, fretboard diagrams show at the bottom, and you can click on different instrument options for the chords and lyrics (although, I think they’re the same for all instruments in this song).
This is all in the free-version, and I didn’t even have to sign up.
There’s a free version and a premium version. With the free version, you can access all the chords in the E-chords system as well as create your own.
The paid subscription removes ads, and the main features seem to be access to all the tutorial videos, creating as many Songbooks as you want (seeming to be like playlists).
There’s also access to transposing keys, a guitar chord dictionary, and other components.
Worship Together
I had forgotten about Worship Together initially. But in my research, I came across it again. The guitar chords for this worship music website, I think, is one of my absolute favorites.
There are options to transpose chords for free (though I admit, I don’t know how accurate they are).
Also, there’s a planning center with this, similar to WorshipChords, which may be helpful if you’re on a worship team.
There’s an option to just show the lyrics without the chords, and you can download the chords in what seems to be a .txt file. There are videos and other components as well.
This site does seem to also have a greater variety of my favorite songs available compared to WorshipChords.
I really also like the dark background behind the chord text. I think helps me to focus on chords better. A blog is present on the site, but it hasn’t been updated in a little while (as of when this post was written).
Conclusion
So, there are quite a few options out there to find guitar chords for worship music. My favorite site, at least for the purpose of Christian songs, is Worship Together, primarily because of the site organization and appearance. This is in addition to the features that are available for free at this time.
I think Ultimate Guitar comes in at a close second because of the variety of songs, both worship and non-worship. I also may be biased because I’m already paying for the Ultimate Guitar subscription.

In addition to using guitar chords, there are many other options for music notation. You can learn these taking music lessons. I’ve been thinking about taking piano lessons again as an adult. Interested in pros and cons? Check out the post here!
